MUMenu is a menubar item application that will check periodically for daily Mac OS X software updates at MacUpdate. You'll be able to browse small descriptions of the updated products, go to More Info pages, and download them. Highlighted updates (Hot Picks) are highlighted in red, and applications that are already installed on your Mac will display its appropriate icon. When a new update is posted, MUMenu icon in the menu bar will change color.

For many years after MUMenu stopped working, the feed of updated apps at /mommy/updates.xml was kept alive, so it was easy to curl & parse the contents in a shell script. But as of mid February 2024, that feed has been shut down. So while we already knew that MUMenu wouldn't be coming back, now there's no way anymore for DIY solution either. Shame.

Are you ever going to update this app? I had gotten so used to using this very helpful app, but it no longer works on Macs running Big Sur or later.

This is a great application … when it works. However, it DOES NOT WORK with Big Sur or the M1 Macintoshes. As a paid subscriber, I would like to know when the application will be updated, or (when it is) will my subscription be extended, or how will you refund my subscription?
